TSL 4081 TESOL Issues and Practices

In this course students explore the analysis and classroom application of linguistic theories in the field of second language acquisition for LEP (Limited English Proficient) students. This course also includes an overview of topics related to English Language Learner's (ELL) background and first language. Students develop awareness and understanding of the complexities surrounding language, background, and learning in order to meet the needs of ELL students according to the Florida Consent Decree, Florida Statute 1004.04. The course is part of the ESOL Endorsement and follows the approved ESOL matrix.
