EDF 4430 Measurement, Evaluation, Technology & Assessment

In this course, students explore the principles of traditional and alternative assessment strategies to obtain skills relevant to the development and use of classroom assessments. Students develop a basic understanding of the principles of measurement, formative and summative assessment strategies, test construction, performance assessments, and reading and interpreting data from state achievement tests. This course helps students examine the content measured by state tests and how to use the data to improve student achievement. The use of technological tools to enhance assessment in the classroom, aligned with standards-based education and cutting-edge technological changes in the field is also explored.
