IRSC is recognized as the premier institution for higher education, emphasizing quality, affordability and convenience and is a key partner in the continuing development of the Treasure Coast region and as a national model for innovative use of technology in education.
IRSC is an equal access, equal opportunity educational institution welcoming students without regard to race, color, national origin, ethnicity, sex, pregnancy, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, genetic information or any other factor protected under applicable federal, state, or local civil rights laws, rules or regulations. Special adjustments within the College, such as architectural modifications for the disabled and classes in English as a Second Language, ensure that all students have equal opportunities for success at IRSC.
IRSC's open door policy guarantees that anyone who earns a high school or high school equivalency diploma will be admitted to the College. Close cooperation among the administration and faculty, a collegial atmosphere of open communication, and concern for the overall success of the student allow IRSC to give its students a high quality education at a reasonable cost. In addition, many financial aid and scholarship programs are readily available to eligible students, including more than $3 million annually provided to students by the IRSC Foundation, Inc.
IRSC's reach extends to audiences throughout the Treasure Coast. The College serves high school students who wish to get a head start on college through its Dual Enrollment and Early Admissions programs. Most area high school graduates take their first steps toward future plans at IRSC. In fact, over 70% of the region’s college-bound high school seniors attend IRSC following graduation. Persons already established in careers attend IRSC to expand their skills and retrain for new positions. And hundreds of area residents age 50 and over pursue their interests through the Fielden Institute of Lifelong Learning, which offers programs and lectures throughout the year. Through its Virtual Campus, the College provides hundreds of online learning opportunities, including full degree programs, making higher education broadly accessible.
The region’s comprehensive educational provider, state-designated career and technical center, and cultural hub, IRSC has a reputation for quality that inspires nearly 30,000 people to enroll in classes each year.
