Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the official student government of Indian River State College, which consists of representatives who are elected or appointed to represent the interests of the Indian River State College student body to the administration of the College. The Student Government Association holds bi-weekly meetings that are available in person and in a virtual space. Some of the responsibilities of the SGA include:

• Providing leadership development opportunities for students;
• Promoting, coordinating, and supporting college-wide activities;
• Recommending students for College standing committees and special committees;
• Providing suggestions for improving student life; and
• Serving as the official student government representatives of Indian River State College within the Florida College System Student Government Association at conferences and meetings.

Campus Liaisons

Campus Liaisons serve as campus representatives of the Student Government Association (SGA) and the Office of Student Life, acting as a vital connection between students, campus departments, and College leadership. Campus Liaisons help represent their campus, promote student engagement opportunities, and support Student Life and SGA initiatives through outreach, events, and public communication.

In this leadership role, Campus Liaisons contribute to creating a welcoming and inclusive campus environment, assist with college-wide and campus-based programs, and help amplify student voices. Participation as a Campus Liaison supports leadership development, communication and public speaking skills, and community involvement. Students selected for this role may earn co-curricular transcript recognition, receive a graduation medallion, and may be eligible for a letter of recommendation from the Associate Vice President of Student Life.
